2026-04-08 — Portfolio Map session

Built out the Life Itself portfolio map: a complete, structured inventory of initiatives and projects with interactive visualizations. The main output is a shared picture of what we're working on, what's paused, and what's just an idea — ready to use as a basis for the team strategy session.

Main things done

  • Fleshed out the full initiatives list — added ~20 new initiatives and projects across all areas; all have status and description set.
  • Clarified the status model — five values: active, maintenance, paused, idea, archived. Documented in the README.
  • Added grouping nodes (category: grouping) — container initiatives rendered as hollow circles and excluded from counts, so status counts reflect real work only. See visualizations/README.
  • Redesigned visualizations (visualizations/portfolio-map.html, visualizations/portfolio-indented.html) — colour encodes type (blue/green/yellow), opacity encodes vitality, status filter toggles on both views.
  • Clarified jobs to be done — documented in projects/2026-portfolio-map: two key questions, priority on Jobs 3 & 4 (strategic landscape + ideas pipeline) for the team session.

Still to do before team session

  • Add owner field to active initiatives.
  • A few initiative descriptions are still thin.
